Gentle pianos coupled with gradually growing synths surrounded by processed vocal snippets played out to a percussive backdrop composed of found sounds and field recordings. One could say that Surkid’s ‘Trees’ is an audio display of how to present your heart when you’re all out of sleeve.

Emotive concepts presented as questions captivate the listener, begging them to become entwined with the fragility of the recordings. You are thanked for this as with every build, each crescendo that reverberates, each carefully depressed key. Six tracks that could captivate six years played out over twenty six minutes.
