“So there it is. The debut album from Surkid. Produced and recorded entirely at Ten Square Studios, as I call my humble little home studio, my creative space – the only room where it’s just the instruments and me. Although the studio is acoustically treated, it has a standing wave at around 120 Hz, but I’ve become friends with that clunky frequency as we meet from time to time. I’m glad I did this album and that I managed to do it in a time that was very challenging for me. I started working on this record shortly after my daughter was born. As a result, most of the album was made in the very late evening in a partially overtired state – in other words, the opposite of what I would call my creative comfort zone (I’m most creative in the late morning)….
